20 Best Tips and Ideal Father’s Day Gifts

Father’s Day is coming up! For some, it can be a touchy day to celebrate. It’s unfortunate that some children don’t have fathers present or worse, they do but don’t receive the support and direction they desperately need. However, what about those dads that deserve the world? The ones that are always there, never complain or are the role models all dads envy?

Recently, an email was sent out by a company - that will remain nameless - and they asked if we wanted to opt out of father’s day emails. We were stunned. Surely the intent was not to discredit fathers, but it really makes us question the way that our world pushes views on family dynamics.

We think it’s imperative, regardless of the majority’s opinion, that we show value and appreciate to the many fathers out there that are committed to being the best for their family. For the ones that may not be the most extraordinary example, a little celebration or appreciation can make a big impact. No matter the situation, it’s extremely important that we stand as the example. We are responsible for teaching our children what’s right, even if it’s not fair. We show them how to be a great human being, to share love and value everything - that includes not just showing appreciation on a designated holiday.

We anticipate some of you have already searched keywords for “best Father’s Day gifts” in a variety of ways. However, we’re also sure there are plenty of people doing the last minute shuffle to figure it out. Well, we can help narrow down the plethora of options down to what he may really want - and you still have time to make it happen!

Starting with our classic and affordable ideas this Father’s Day:

  • Is this his first Father’s Day celebration? Build him a survival kit filled including the emergency babysitters number and a cold drink to ease stress of a newborn.

  • Forget the old-school coffee mug and go practical with a thermos, tumbler or something portable. Most importantly, give dad his favorite coffee to go with it.

  • How’s the old razor treating dear ol dad? Not great? Consider a shaving set or an appointment to a traditional shave with a professional barber.

  • Does he wear cologne? Or maybe you dislike his go-to scent? A new bottle of cologne is a classic option.

  • Is he a suit guy? A new tie, casual cufflinks or a new briefcase is always ideal to have.

  • Is he a hands-on and get them dirty type of dad? Maybe a new tool or some work boots are the best choices.

  • Does he enjoy his afterwork beer or a nice glass of whiskey? There are plenty of gifts to pair with alcohol like new glasses, a decanter, cigars and so much more.

Looking to go more personal? Here’s our list of more lavish presents to truly show appreciation:

  • Purchase his favorite sporting event ticket and an extra one for you to spend the time with him.

  • How about joining him for a game of golf on your dime? All you have to do is drive the golf cart.

  • For most dads, it’s hard to go wrong with a new watch or tuning up the one he wears the most.

  • Does dad have a treasured car and you can have it detailed? Or maybe a new aftermarket enhancement?

  • Travel a lot? Consider a new luggage set or personalized luggage tags.

  • Serve dad up a homemade breakfast in bed or treat him to brunch. If he loves to cook, consider a new knife set you can give him while creating a meal together.

  • Don’t know your father’s hobbies vs. his obligatory chores? Give time and rest - mow the lawn for him, repair something he hasn’t had time to fix, clean out the garage and take some of his least favorite tasks off him so he can sit back and relax.

Whether you are the parent planning for your kids or the child of his you will always be, you don’t need to spend serious money to show a Father how much you appreciate him. Sometimes the handmade gifts from his kids mean more to them than you will ever know.
